“Our room was clean but out in the area of the pool & sitting was dirty. The restaurant there was way under staffed & the manager in the restaurant was doing absolutely nothing while the 2 people that were working was trying to keep up with orders & cooking. My friend cleaned up tables for them. They couod definitely use some better help & a different manager in the restaurant! Besides that the kids had fun swimming. ”

“Place wasn’t bad for what it was. It’s an older hotel. Good price and nice enough. My room smelled like a smokers room though. I just dealt with it but it definitely was strong when I first got to the room.”

“Almost perfect except there is no refrigerator in the rooms. Room is large and extremely quiet. Free beer, wine and food at cocktail hour. Great pool and exercise room. The location is outstanding; every conceivable store, big box and restaurant with 1 mile. Can’t believe that West Des Moines isn’t putting downtown Des Moines out of business. ”

“We arrived 15 minutes before the official check in time and staff refused to check us in. A person from the office came out and contacted housekeeping and found us a room after all. Our sink backed up while we were at tje concert. Front desk staff would only hive my daughter one water and said that was all she could get. I went and asked for water and was able to ask for three bottles. Overall a disappointing experience.”

“Everything was well kept, and tidy. Check in was easy. The pool and hot tub were clean and open. The room was clean and well kept. The breakfast was warm and stocked. Would stay here again for sure.”

“First staff could not figure out I had already paid for the room, Second could not figure why the key card for the room i booked was not working took 20 minutes to finally switch to a different room. Was supposed to be in 122 got 121. Third found out that pictures online are 100 percent better than actual property, meaning get inside and everything was lets say aged. Fourth found out pool could not be underwhelming things carved into inside pool like 420 and other trashy symbols and cleaning...

“Overall I gave 3 stars mainly because the advertised pictures verses the actual room were so far off that I really didn’t feel like I got what I paid for. I’m not trying to be picky but here’s the list. The room was much smaller than I expected. I was expecting a two room suite (a bedroom and a living room area). The living room area was said to have a pull out couch. Personally I would call it a loveseat. The advertised kitchen with stove top was a disappointment (the stovetop did not work...

“Staff was very understanding about letting my dog stay in the room for a couple of hours while we went to Dave & Busters for my son’s birthday party.”

“I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. Stay here. You absolutely should. The staff is amazing. The food, both breakfast and dinner is amazing. The drinks are amazing and you have a bartender who'll happily get creative and make you a concoction. Everything is clean, looks clean, smells clean, feels clean. The decor is unique and the layout is open, bright and inviting.”
